Is there like a coinstar type machine here where i can cash all my change? My bucket has gotten full and I don't want it sitting around.

If not do i just take it to the bank?

If you're looking for one of those machines where you put all of your change in and get bills back, check your bank. They might have one in the lobby. I used one once, but had to have a bank employee help me operate it.

Yep, and you can use the machine even if it isnt at the bank you deal with. Just scope it out before you start lugging that bucket around town. Wink

Your bank will receive coin too. I've cashed in twice this year for well over a million.

Separate your coins by their value and then put them into separate bags and take them to a bank.
They have coin counting machines that will count them. After that, the teller will write down how much it is and then give you the choice to either get cash or to deposit it into your account.

When I was in Korea, I would put all my change into a change jar. After 2 months or so, I would take it to the bank and have it deposited into my bank account.....on average, I would deposit about 180,000 to 240,000 in change after a two or three month period.

Start saving all your coins for about 3 months in a can or something and you will see how fast you will fill it with 10, 50,100 and 500 won coins...

700,000 in coin is massively heavy too. I think I carried about 45 pounds of coin to the bank this June.

You DEFINTELY do NOT have to do this... the machine sorts them.

Yeah I was hoping so. Nobody wants to separate coins, that's exactly why they made those machines lol.

Thanks to everyone who helped Wink

Actually, at some banks (like two KEBs I have gone to) there isn't an actual coin SORTER, it's just a COUNTER. You can probably get away with not sorting it at these banks playing the foreigner card, but it's best to just sort them before going in if you want to use that bank. If not, just use another bank that has an actual sorter. I personally thought it was pretty lame for a bank to have the less-able machine. More busy work to fill those workers' hours...

Besides, as you sort your coins, you can do your own count so there is no discrepancy between your count and the one done at the bank.....sometimes they have a habit of dropping coins and having them roll under the machine as they dump the bag into the machine (thus causing the count to be less than what you had)........besides, it is better to be sure about how much you are depositing rather depending on what they say.......
