I'l be attending grad school in the spring, and I was wondering if anyone had any information on where I can get financial aid in Korea.

There's gotta be something out there to help international students pay for school here.

I don't have an answer for you, but United States offers zero financial aid and loans to international students.. so I'm not sure if Korea would.

I told my head teacher that I had to go to a bank so that I could transfer money home to pay off school loans and she was completely confused and could only reply that in Korea the parents pay for it. Blah. Just let me go to the bank lady!

I get a gov't scholarship for my studies...

It really depends on the field that you're in. If you're studying some kind of Engineering/Technology than there are a few options. Otherwise, I have no idea.

actually there is - or was - don't know if it's still there or not - the unis here have been trying to diversify and in order to do it they offer full scholarships to a LOT of students - many come from Africa which is why you see a lot of them around Korea

don't know how to find out - maybe stop one of the fellows in Itaewon and ask? I'm sure some of them either are or know a foreign student here -

good luck.

I guess what I meant to say was.. yes, I get a full scholarship from my school (this is fairly typical), and then on top of that I get a scholarship from the K-gov't. If you have some kind of useful talent, there are options where your living expenses and tuition are paid for, at least.

don't make this into something it's not -

I've run into Africans from Kenya, Ethiopia, Cameroon, Nigeria, Senegal and Ghana here - almost all were students.

There is a Cameroon student organization even -

Yes, the K govt is trying to diversify the population - attracting students from all over with financial aid for college.

He's right. ALL the Nigerians I've seen in Korea are students. I think the Nigerian student organisation is just by Itaewon station. Rolling Eyes
