22nd November. Leaving Seoul in a few days and still haven't sold the last few things, so I've cut the prices on what I have left. I'm in Gangnam, very close to Seolleung station.

Queen-size bed with comfortable matress, pillows and warm blanket. W20,000.

Two Large (four feet high, two feet wide) wooden bookcases. These are solid, light rubberwood with four shelves and each hold about 120 paperbacks. W20,000 each..

Small bookcase/DVD case. The same height as the other bookcases but just over one foot wide. I use it for DVDs. W15,000.

Office chair. Black, really comfortable, on wheels, spins round satisfyingly. W30,000.

Two rubberwood folding TV tables. W10,000 each.

Thanks for reading!

Tam, I may be interested in some of these items (for a friend), so I may contact you later this month.

By the looks of it, you had the honor of falling into a spider web. It was one of those in which you have to furnish your own pad. It's just an observation.

In TESOL, I'll NEVER furnish my own place. I don't want to be leaving any near-new stuff behind or hawking it on a site like this for like 20% of what I paid for it.

Thanks for the PMs. I've replied to some of them and will respond to the others tomorrow. The TV is sold but everything else is still available so far.

On Tobias' comment, the best-paid jobs in Korea don't usually include accommodation. The sort of housing and benefits provided by schools are worth, at the very most, W1,000,000 a month (and that's if the housing is in the middle of Seoul). Those of us making more than W5,000,000 a month are almost all paying for our own housing but that's a LOT better than getting paid W2,500,000 with all the trimmings.

A-men, brother. I've got one of those mid-two jobs and I'm about to tell 'em to stuff it. Luckily, I have only a few things to ditch before going to the airport. Coffee maker, computer printer, winter coat...

Nice pad. Sounds like one of those places that costs 300 bucks a month to heat.

When it gets cold enough, I sleep in a tent I simply set up in my room. That works well, as my tents are those you'd take on K2 climbs. My heating bill runs about twenty bucks a month when I do this. It'd be ten if I didn't heat the place for short periods when I wake up or heat it (a little) on weekends.
