Too bad she wasn't just going to a room salon; at least that's sanctioned adultery. Confused

That is so...so....man. I'd don't even have the words to describe how...disgusting it all is....

18 month sentence for a one-night-stand between adults vs. what? probation for 7 years of rape by family members on a mentally disabled child. whatthehell

I wonder why BBC would pick-up this story, and not the one about the rapist caretakers?

I think this is for amusement purposes.

making adultery "illegal" is enormously amusing. Downright farcical.

Of course, websites like yahoo are filled EVERY day with inane and stupid articles aimed at women like

"6 signs he may be prone to cheating".

and of course the contents are beyond inane.

I should write an article like this (apparently given their preponderance, women can't get enough of this stuff)

6 signs he may be prone to cheating... by bogey666

ladies, we'll condense it to ONE sign.

1) he has a pe-nis
2) he has a pe-nis
3) he has a pe-nis
4) he has a pe-nis
5) he has a pe-nis
6) he has a pe-nis

It could be that Korea doesn't want certain stories to tarnish their sparkling image.
Acquitting repeated incestual rapists? Not sparkling.
Incarcerating someone for violating the strict moral sanctity of marriage? Sparkling.

I think Koreans want this issue to be seen more, especially in Korea, because it sends out a warning to women that they will be punished for cheating on their marriages. The men are okay, cause it's condoned within the society, but be a woman, and you're going to be held to the highest standards that aren't held for men.

"Ok, So-ri, you have committed adultery. What do you have to say for yourself?!"

"Ok... Sorry."

"No, don't state your name. What do you have to say for yourself?!"

I couldn't help it.

Would "Korea" even have a say on what was picked-up by foreign media?

Hahaha. I had been thinking about this article on its own - laughing about the idea of putting someone in jail for a year and a half for cheating. I hadn't even bothered to compare it to the whole "you raped your relative for years and we're going to not send you to jail and release the victim back into your custody" thing. Holy hell.

Yeah, haha. Maybe the actress should say "Didn't you hear about the Korean rapist family? Jesus, and you want to put ME in jail? LOL"

That would be a down right logical argument. Though I would love to see that. After all, it is previous court cases which define how to apply laws.

How does one go about trying to get these stories covered by the international media? I know that the adultery case has been covered by the BBC, but the comparison of the rape case and the adultery case would make for an enlightening read on the world-stage. I really don't think anyone outside Korea has heard about it, but IMO people would go nuts if they saw these ridiculous decisions side-by-side.

Edit:
I sent the links to CNN to see if anything would happen.

And you want to know the funniest part? This adultery law was made to "protect" women.
