What do you do when economic conditions get worse in Korea? The answer; kill yourself, Korean style. This is really a bad way to go when you have "lost face" in current economic conditions.

Small Business Owners Commit Suicide in Row
Three small business owners took their own lives over the last two weeks, apparently because of the economic slump.
An owner of a marginal sewing business in Busan was found dead in the basement of a factory, Friday, in an apparent suicide. Police said he hung himself and left a note saying, ``Im sorry that I cannot pay wages to my workers.
The 56-year-old man, identified only as Kim, has not been able to pay wages to five employees due to plunging orders over the last two months, according to the police.
Right before the suicide, he attempted to borrow about 10 million won for the payment of the overdue wages but was rejected by all financial firms. He was already tens of millions of won in debt.
On the same day, another small business owner was found dead by his elder sister in his room in Busan. The 51-year-old man took a poisonous substance and left a note in which he said he was sorry for poor business.
He had been running a company manufacturing leather goods in China over the last decade but was under extreme stress due to worsening business there, police said.
The two deaths came after another 47-year-old man, Park, president of a small auto parts maker, jumped off an apartment building in Gimhae, South Gyeongsang Province in mid-November. Police quoted his family members as saying that he wanted to die because of steep falls in orders amid the sluggish auto industry.
