I'm thinking about getting skylife hooked up and I was wondering, can you get afkn and starworld with it? I kow you can get lot's of movie channels, but I want to know if I can get The Simpsons.

No Starworld. The other thing I dislike is no Discovery Channel (my favorite) and no BBC. I can't understand about Starworld...they have Starsports, but don't offer Starworld. Go figure. Here's a bit of what they do have that's in English:

arirang
OCN
CNN
XTM
Disney
Nick for kids
Animal Planet
Adventure 1
about 4 really good movie channels
about 4 sucky movie channels

If anyone knows how to get Discovery/Starworld with Skylife, please post!

Tooniverse should show the Simpsons, though I couldn't really tell you a regular time.
It was on last night around 10:15pm though...

The Simpsons in Korean completely blows. The thing that bugs the hell out of me with Tooniverse is that the keep changing the time on the Simpsons. a few weeks ago it was on at 6pm Sunday. But now it isn't. Mad

The Simpsons was once broadcast (dubbed) in Korean (and Chinese - in Taiwan) as the "Simpson Family" but locals didn't get it and I suspect they didn't capture the style of humor well in translating/customizing things for local sensibilities. the Voices were whack (and Korean voicers can do solid jobs the Korean dub of TOY STORY has a few characters who SOUND like the Enlgish ones - and ahve the same myrth to them- and there's a due who can belt out Randy Newman songs IDENTICALLY, but in Korean! Surreal!!!!). It used to run (dubbed) on EBS when I was last there.

I doubt they dubbed more than that introductory season, so when circulating them they end up subtitling newer ones (its cheaper to do - and on the R3 boxed sets they are already done - by FOX - so they probably cost Tooniverse very little to run).

I have Skylife and do not miss AFKN at all. As for Starworld, never saw it so wouldn't care one way, or the other.
The reason I got Skylife was because I love movies and I get tons of movie channels, including Catch On and Catch On Plus; I pay KW 23k and change a month, plus the PPV movies I may watch, which range in price from KW 1000 to KW 1500.
What is cool about having it is that you can program it to your favotite shows so that no matter what you my be watching, the channel will change at the time that the show starts.
Another thing is the radio stations, of which you get about 20, or 30.
For more information call 02 2003 3074 and don't worry, thy speak English.
