Anyone like Joy Division?

See this movie if you can find it.

(reminds me a bit of Jim Morrison and the doors)

Yeah, I watched it a couple of weeks ago. Awkward viewing as fans of Joy Division will obviously know how it ends. Not a great deal to be 'enjoyed' for those that aren't familiar with the band though.

I'm of the opinion that their significance is infinitely more relevant if you can remember first-hand nineteen seventies Britain, but then I'm biased as I was there. Both within and outside of the UK, I think Joy Division are probably one of the most underrated bands of the last 30-years or so. Their music is just so emotive and pioneering for its time. On first listen, it seems so inaccessible and too personable. It's difficult to get into. But over time, if you let it, it stays with you and grows with you.

Very much of its time and place. Ultimately, a sad and regrettable tragedy in every sense, but such a timeless legacy, one that will hopefully live on.

Yeah that movie kicked me in the face. Ya don't need to be a fan of the music or anything at all really to see this. It's a drag. The guy was 23 years old. A brilliant guy. A fine movie.

Since then I have been checking out some old tunes I haven't heard for a long time...

www.deezer.com is a good site

New Order are huge, are they still going? Not the same at all, but they are big.
