|
|
I am due in Seoul on December 15th for an English camp, for which I am in the process of obtaining a C4 visa. It seems to be basically the same process as the E2.
I went to the police station today to get my criminal background check. After I paid, I found out they are only valid for 60 days. If that is true, my background check will not be valid after January 24th (after 60 days is up). I think my C4 visa ends on January 28th.
I think I can only get it apostilled in New York. And I think I can only apply for an E2 visa AFTER my C4 is finished.
Does anyone know if this is true? Anyone know if the 60 day rule is strictly enforced by Korean immigration? Anyone know if a friend can get my CBC apostilled, or do I need to be present? I'm pretty sure a friend can pick it up from the police station... The good news is the apostille place is literally down the block from the police station where I need to pick it up.
Any guidance will be greatly appreciated. |

By the way... I already had an E2- got it back in October 2007... I don't think that matters, but maybe it does. And I will have the apostilled CBC already approved for my December C4 visa (along with all the other required documents for the E2).
Again, don't think it matters. Sucks that I have to go through this whole process twice in a couple months... |

For K-immi purposes the time frame is 6 months from date of issue.

Yeah, I just heard that. Awesome. That fixes one problem. I think I can't apply for my E2 until my C4 is up, but...
Wait, that leads me to another question. How long does it take to obtain your E2 visa after you submit the documents to immigration? |

IF all the paperwork is in order, 4-7 WORKING days to get the confirmation number and then 2 more for your visa run (AFTER it is submitted to Kimmi).

Four to seven working days?? That's it? I remember it took a few weeks last time, and that wasn't at the beginning of the semester. You sure about this??
I'll be out of the country anyway, so at least a visa run won't be a problem...
Thanks for the help. |
