|
|
I'm used to my usual places back in the states, but I need to find ram for my laptop (it's a 1 gig ram machine right now that is capable of running 2 gigs). I didn't plan to keep using my laptop while here as my desktop, but getting my pc here is going to take forever (and may never happen). I really don't want to buy another computer right now, so I'm figuring I'll at least make this computer as nice as I can. I bought a 22 inch monitor that I'm now using for it, and added a keyboard and expensive mouse, which makes it feel much more like a desktop. Now I just need to make it a bit stronger with some ram. So I need to find PC-2700 ram. |

Yongsan. Last I checked, you can add 1GB(or 2 512MBs) for 80,000, probably cheaper now as that was 8 months ago.
Exit the ipark through the long bridge to the street, past parking lot, cross the main road and enter the "Gigabyte" building. Ask around, you'll find a stall. |

Technomart at Gangbyeon is also a good bet. It doesn't have some of the sketchy people outdoors selling ram at rock bottom prices but it still has quite good deals. Depending on where you live its worth considering going there instead. |

Thanks Golem. I was there the other day, and honestly didn't even think about asking about ram. Yeah, stupidity on my part. I'll have to wander there again and see what they have. I was pricing ram back in the states yesterday, and I found this ram to be about $30 per 1 gig stick. If I can't find it cheap here, I may just end up buying it on line, and ship it to my friend and have her send it to me through the regular mail. Hate to do that as it will take forever, but if the prices are that high, it's probably the best bet. |

Chances are you have two slots with 512mb in each of them. In that case, you will need to but two 1 gig memory cards. Then you will have two 512 mb cards that are pretty worthless. I've got one that I would give anybody for free if they really want it.
I bought my memory online from Bestbuy. It seems to be a little cheaper in the US. Go figure. |

Yeah, I kind of figured I'd have to buy two 1 gig sticks. Haven't opened my machine to make sure, but obviously I will before I go to buy whatever it is I need to buy.
Were you able to order from Best Buy from here, or was that when you were back in the states (or some other variation thereof)? |
