Quote:
The General Student Association at Cheongjus Seowon University is demanding the ouster of several professors for having spent over a three-year period a total of W130 million in university funds on booze and women at room salons, massage parlors, and other blowjob and handjob entertainment establishments.

Academia in Korea sounds like quite the joyride:

1. big bucks
2. regionally mediocre universities that keep protecting themselves with aspirations of making the big top-ten list - "next year, we promise, next year"
3. room salon perks
4. instead of thinking, researching, writing, and publishing just plagiarize
5. on that rare occasion that research must be done, get the grad students to do it and take all the credit.

f*$king eh!

Things have changed a LOT when it comes to how you spend research funding here. The free wheeling days are pretty much over. The fact that anyone actually knows that those profs spent research funds on partying is an amazing development.

Guess there's nothing left in the kitty for a defamation lawyer. Oh well, write that into the budget for next year.

That money was, essentially, stolen. They should have been fired as soon as the activities were uncovered.

So what, they'll probably say they went there to find and ask pertinent questions for their research to female alumni from 6 middle schools, high schools, and colleges...

"They were given a corporate account card from the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology for the purpose of carrying out special research *cough* on six middle and high schools and colleges in partnership with Seowon University."

Well sometimes a girl won't put out to secure an A, so those cards are needed to relieve stress.
