Should you tell recruiters the truth, and why you are resigning?
Should you tell potential employers outside of recruiters the truth, or pretend you just finished out your contract, or pretend you are just fresh off the plane here in Korea and looking for a job in person?
Does terminating an EPIK contract prevent you from ever working with SMOE or GEPIK, or limit you in any other way?
Thanks! |

I think it helps if you share more of a personal story as to why.
Knowing your background is an important factor in wether or not to tell your recrutier or not.
Also, keep in mind recruiters work on commission. If you terminate your contract, it's possible they won't get paid, so they may not want to work with you. But on the flip side, they might not care because you're still fresh money. |

Why should you have to tell the recruiter anything? They found you the job, they're not the one who's employing you...
Unless you're talking about telling a future recruiter why you quit, in which case I would also say no... Why should they care? So long as you didn't do anything outside of your contract its really no one's business (especially a recruiter)...
As far as I know, the only way that resigning would affect your chances with getting a position with SMOE or GEPIK is if you pull a runner, or are fired for some reason... Giving your contractual period of notice for quitting shouldn't be a problem (despite what your recruiter is telling you - from another post of yours) |

I would contact different recruiters this time, not Footprints. They were great, but I'd rather start fresh.
As far as my personal story Goku, I ranted a novel in a previous thread called 'Public School, Shmublic School', so I didn't want to be redundant. Basically, roach infested box with no hot water for 3 1/2 months, local ed dep't mandated seat-warming during entire breaks after we were told we'd have the time off by our individual schools, PS office politics, exploitative tactics, teaching a waste of everyone's time save for a couple of star kids, etc.
So, I should just pretend I am in Korea looking for a job on foot then and not even mention that I've ever worked in this country? |

| Well, you're gonna resign and give them notice right? That's nothing to hide. I'm pretty sure you're Alien ID stays the same and immigration will have information about you. No point lying when you haven't done anything that bad and the truth may come out in the wash. |
