There are several jobs about to be advertised here, and having worked there for a bit, here is my advice...Stay well clear.
Why?
well they will not pay more than 2 million
You will have to work more than 23 teaching hours a week (compared to 12 at most other universities)
You will start at 8 am, and work a split shift and not finish until 7 or 8 pm
The administration will treat you like a second class citizen. the students find out info about your job, before you do.
The staff will all have to live in a dormitory from March, and it is unclear if there are cooking facilities, and when you ask if they can find out about it (they own the building, it shouldn't be difficult) they say they will, and 4 weeks later they still have no news.
Although it's a university, you will be asked to teach in an outside elementary school where you will not be paid for the travel time, and will have to teach 8 classes of 36 kids.
Your supervisor can barely speak English, and will not help you, and will have no consideration for you, if she needs something done, she will tell you to do it, even if it conflicts with your personal life and is after hours, such as demands that you attend a conference in Seoul on a saturday, and will only pay 50k for the whole day (including travel and lunch)
You will have to spend 6 hours a week (minimum) in the office (regardless if you have nothing to do) for which you will not be paid.
You will have to give up one week of the eight weeks vacation time to sit in an office and wait in case a student comes to have their level assessed. Usually less than 10 students will come in the week, and the rest of the time will be wasted and not paid overtime for. What is more, the suggestion that this could be done in one day will be ignored, and you will be told that it is unfair for the students to be told when to come in, although it is perfectly fare to waste an hour of your holiday.
The office (about 50 square metres) is shared with 5 other native speakers, about 15 TOEIC teachers, and any student who wants to wonder in to use the staff computers. The noise levels are very high, as most people sit and talk on their phones (which are never on silent). At anyone time, there may be 15 people in the office, and 3 mobile phone conversations.
On a possitive the students are nice.

This doesn't surprise me at all.
More evidence of the sorry state of Korean Universities... |

good question, one teacher is trying to leave (2 already have), but as he is still contracted the Dean refuses to give a letter of release, and as such he cannot undertake the job he has been offered at another university.

But, if you're "Professor" wouldn't you expect this kind of workload? |

| This is not me moaning about my job, i can live with it. This is a heads up for those who may hear of the position and think this will be like other universities (which from what i hear from my friends are very good) |

The workload is fine, it's the admin that's fucked. |

No, the workload is NOT fine. Are you actually working in a university teaching accredited courses or some off-shoot language school/academy?
Dude, whatever it is. Run. Don't even read this. Just Run. |

I would've been out the door so quick. People there can just quit and get a new job. They're obviously violating some laws or contract situpations. Even then...
It is easy to quit. As long as you have all your docs. |

| In all honesty, if I were single and someone told me I could not quit, and was on an E-2, I'd quit anyway and try to get a new job without a LOR. If I couldn't get one, I'd just go somewhere else. |

Force them to fire you by doing. . . well, use your imagination.
Once fired, they have to give you a LOR as they have "released" you from the job. |

Does this necessarily prompt a LOR without having to return home first in order to re-apply? |

I guess that depends on what visa you have. |
