Well, at least they're not washing their hands after they use the bathroom in it.

My sarcasm has backfired...

Your coworkers actually wash their hands after they use the bathroom?

My co-teachers seem to wash their hands BEFORE taking a slash.

I don't really see the point.

You know this was what I was told by a Flemish (Belgium) doctor I spent an afternoon hiking with once. It makes more sense to wash your hands before than after, at least for number one. Think about where the bacteria are coming from; the *beep* and vagina are usually fairly clean, and urine is sterile.

The guy was a gynacologist.

I've always thought this true too. If you keep your little man clean, and don't piss on your hands.......then washing before you pee would be more hygenic than washing after.

Sure dirty stuff does happen in the bathroom but when I had to go on rounds as an undergrad we were reminded that that washing is simply another opportunity to clean up and not directly related to pee-pee time which can be relativily sano if done right. A toilet paper failure is a whole 'nother world.

pee is sterile right after it leaves your body. if you need to clean a wound in an emergency and clean water isn't available, pee on it! the dirty part is your wiener and its surrounding area. for all of those who don't wash their hands, i ask you this: would you touch another dude's wiener if it wasn't considered gay? for chrissakes, listen to your mother and wash your hands!

My sister-in-law has a thing about brushing teeth at the kitchen sink, and I never really understood it. The OP mentioned people wash their dishes in that sink, but some of those dishes have had contact with the insides of mouths.
I remember seeing some TV show about how all kinds of particles float up into the air after a toilet's flush and the particles stick to your toothbrush. That just gnarled me out so much I took my toothbrush out of the bathroom and do all's mah teeth brushins in the kitchen now. Granted, it's just me in my house - so I can do whatever I want.

This is the reason I love Japanese houses. Toilet is just in a closet all by its self somewhere. Bathroom has its own totally seperate area.
