After 6 months of work, my hogwon is closing down its Jr high and has given me a letter of release and officially terminated my E2 visa that they sponsored. Therefore, I am now a tourist here in Korea. I have received a job from a University in Seoul, and they have applied for my new visa.

I did all I know to have everything be legal. Namely, get a letter of release and go with a rep from my hogwon to terminate my visa. Does anyone forsee any problems with obtaining a new visa?

Many thanks to any helpful people.

you should be good to go - I had a hakwon close once also - they gave us all a LOR - when I took it to immi to ask how much time I had turned out they HADN'T canceled my visa - immi just smiled and said - go get another job - no problem.

which I did -

good luck on your next gig - Smile
