Given the panic of virtually no social security + a huge investment that requires a huge return to retire in the future- could they- would they exist or even survive if the factory mentality wasn't taken pretty much across the board on all issues? I see some posts talking about herding the cattle into their stalls. I often wonder- if this wasn't the attitude- if the language school industry here would exist at all in the measure in which it does.

Also- the social security thing has owners moving their monies into investments (usually property) for their future that require huge monthly payments (possibly the "why?" of - can I pay you late this month). In a system with no social security one is broke and rich at the same time. I wonder how many Westerners would handle that kind of situation- heck- there are lots of teachers out there who leave the tab for others to pick-up at bars, can't pay $20 bucks back, and continually mooch off of other foreigners because they are so bloody cheep- calculated mooching. That's done with a greater measure of social security than what Koreans have.

So- what do you think- is the factory mentality across the board in the language school industry realistically avoidable?
