The link is in Korean. It shows a bunch of this board's members' opinions on Korean booze. I found it very odd that someone took the trouble to translate these opinions into Korean. I cannot understand whatever comment I made, apparently in 2002. |

I find the whole obsession with "What (presumably Western) Foreigners Think About Korea" strange. By contrast, how many times have you asked a foreign worker or guest in your country:
- how they like the local food?
- if they are attracted to the local women?
- more generally, if they like the country?
I have asked these questions to foreigners in Canada, but not very often and I didn't ask all three within minutes of meeting them.
This is not a rant and I'm not angry about it; I just find it strange how image conscious Koreans are toward Western foreigners. |

Your comment, translated, seems to say,
Taiwan(the country?)
Maybe there was a revolution for 2002.
Some of the responses from the Koreans say Korean drinks are developed around and for "ahn-ju." Most Koreans I know drink for quantity and not quality anyway. |

Nah, just found it strange. Dude, I spent most of the past decade and then some in Korea. Still have friends there. Have been in China about four months. Which one do you think I feel more attached to, so far? Plus this board is way better than the international forums. Honestly though, I do still feel attached to Korea, and hope that recedes soon. Give me a year to get over it OK? There's no place like Korea though, I imagine, for better or mainly worse. Where else would some fool track foreign male English teachers' behavior, or bother to translate foreigners' opinions on local booze?
No shawner deal here, son. Don't even go there girlfriend |
