Hi!
I am in Anyang, Seoul. I need to know where to buy this Garbage bag that all speak about.
i have gone through every shelf in E-mart, and supermarktes near my place, but unable to find one.
So let me know where to buy the same. Also, I heard we have to ask for it in small convenience stores. I want to knat exactly do u mean by small stores, coz just below my apartment, there is a Family mart, but everything is costlier than E-mart there. Other small shops I have seen nreaby are GS, mini stop etc.
how do I ask for Garbage bag in Korean language? Please write the word in english.
Also I need to know in which bag I should put the used napkins. |

Usually the small markets close to your home have them. My wife told me they are the same price everywhere, so it doesn't matter where you buy them.
Maybe someone else can post the translation on asking for a garbage bag. |

GS 25, Family Marts; any of these convenience stores have them. They are kept behind the counter, so you have to ask for them.
Ask for 스레기 봉투 or 'seuregi bongtu' (this is probably spelt wrong, but is phonetically correct!) and then tell them what size...10L, 20L, etc. This is for regular trash.
For food garbage, you need different bags, ask for 물 스레기 봉투 or 'mul seuregi bongtoo'. Food garbage goes to farms, and such, whereas regular garbage goes to dumps.
These bags come in packs of 10 or so, but sometimes they sell the reeeeally big bags separately.
Note: I have seen them at Emart, but they are the same price anywhere you buy them. But be sure to buy them only in YOUR DISTRICT as different locales have different bags.

The service desk will sell them to you. Anything that goes in the bag is covered, napkins, whatever...that is why you pay so much for the bag. It is your recycling fee. |

| The cost of the packs of garbage bags depends on the size, like whether they are 10L, 20L...the price goes up with the size of the bag. For 'normal' sized bags for regular use, I think a pack is between 5 and 10,000won...not expensive! |

| I have seen these bags at many markets in quite a few areas in Korea. However, I have been to parts of Korea that don't seem to use these bags. Not even the schools, they have big black bags instead of the colored bags (yellow, green, and white). That was a very interesting observation. |

I need an answer to the dirty napkin question, too.
What if I clean up a food mess with some paper towels. Do they go in with the paper, food, or the everything-else bag?
You know, I really support the idea of recycling, but I find it very confusing.
And what about the wrappers from the coffee sticks? Are they paper, plastic, metal, none of the above?
What about paper stuck on plastic?
Why can't I do what Bryan does and let the garbage pros sort it out?
HELP! |

What about paper stuck on plastic?PLASTICs TAKE THE PAPER OFF IF YOU CAN, and put it in the paper recycling!
Why can't I do what Bryan does and let the garbage pros sort it out? IF THEY FIND OUT EXACTLY WHOES DOING IT, YOU MAY GET EVICTED.

Shiney milk cartons or shiny paper should go in a seperate bag from regular cardboard. |
