I thought the M word would get more of you reading!
My school has just fewer than 50 kids (including K garden), so you can imagine the size of the school!
I am just amazed how well funded my school is.
EG
Two full time cleaners (who use proper cleaning chemicals), two full time grounds men, about 6 or 7 kitchen staff, two secretaries, as well as all the teaching staff.
My school seems to always have loads of money. I have just helped carry in 50 brand new desks for the pupils, in my opinion there was nothing wrong with the old ones!
Two weeks ago the school bought every pupil a pair of roller blades for free, they will soon be getting their ices skates as well, pads, helmets ect!
It seems every other week the pupils get given gifts (school based stuff) to take home.
Trips: (in the last three months we have been to Seoul for the day, a three day residential near Busan, and mid Dec we are going skiing.
These trips were for all the school and 80% of the staff, including some dinner ladies ect! To my knowledge they were all free.
I could go on and on.......
I am assuming the reason why my school is so well funded is because 90-95% of the kids are from army families and this is the governments way of saying thank you for their sacrifice?
Or are all your school this well funded? |

| No cleaners. Old CRT projection tvs. No English village either. Very few field trips anywhere. Conclusion, very poorly funded public school. |

| Mine is in no shortage of funds, because the owner is loaded, like multi-millionaire loaded. The way I've read it is that basically the manager is a bit incompetent and probably couldn't do anything else for a living, so daddy gives him a bit of monopoly money to play with so he's got something to do with his time, doesn't mind if he loses a bit as long as he's learning something along the way. He tries to be stingy but in the wrong ways, and in other ways I think he's just shelling out cash so much more than he needs to. |

| It's really strange which schools do have money and what they do and don't have money for. Plasma TVs but no indoor plumbing. Huge fancy new library but no paint. The only consistant is that with typical Korean caretaking after 10 years it looks like it's 40 years old. |
