I bought and built a really nice pc here with 19-inch LCD monitor but am leaving soon and worried it might be more trouble than its worth to try and mail it home. If so I thought for the computer I could just take apart and mail them and just try to sell the case if its to expensive to ship but the monitor I really love but thinking it will cost alot to ship back to the states.

Any Opinions or suggestions?

Might not be worth it as you have to disassemble it and ship the components separately if you want it intact. Sending everything in the tower would be heavy, fragile and expensive. The monitor could be shipped or even put in your luggage if you want.

Dont bother. If its truely a high-end cpu or graphics card, take them. Ditch the monitor, more hassle than its worth. Pull the hard drive if you want to keep your data.

Yeah thanks for the suggestions. I might just take the important stuff and sell the rest. The only thing is I have built computers back home and the cases here are alot better looking all around than the ones back home plus they are more expensive. That is one of the things I love about Korea its so easy to build a nice computer here for cheap but getting it home is another matter.

Having just packed 3 of them down to the Philippines I can tell you:

1) the HDD and power supply are HEAVY. Take them out and ship the rest in a nice computer box or get the boys at the post office to make one for you.

2) Monitors are cheap if you are going back to NA and only weight about 7kg if you are going back to anywhere else (and subject to the 20 kg. limit).

3) They (tower and/or monitor) can be packed safely in your luggage and will survive the trip just fine.

4) You can ship a basic tower by post {air parcel) (sans HDD and PS) for about 40k-50k won (30k within asia).
