hahaha...My visa ends at the end of this month. I told my school on Monday that I need to go tomorrow to the embassy to have my CBC affadavited(if there is such a word). Anyways, they are so concerned about me leaving work early that they are trying to tell me I don't need to do this. I told them that I do and I don't think they believe me. I have to leave work early whether they like it or not, since they are only open on Thursdays from 1:30-3:30. I guess they just need that white monkey in the room for an extra hour and a half, huh? I mean 12-1 is lunch time anyways. They act like they don't know anything about the new visa regs, even though they dealt with this before with other teachers. I have to do this to extend another 2 months. They need to stop being so silly. Rolling Eyes

If you're finishing your 1 year contract and looking to extend so you can teach 2 more months as you might had agreed to do, then tell them that you will have to leave at the 1 year mark and expect your severance and everything to be in order by the last day. If not, you'll get the extension anyhow to allow you time to settle the differences using the labor board and other government agencies as needed. If they still want to be all about nonsense, tell them it's in their best interest to do you right as to avoid blacklisting and suffering problems in the future with enrollment and hiring future foreign teachers. This will get a directors attention that has any business sense. I had to go that route too and I got my way.

If they can't accommodate your visa need, why would you accommodate their need for you to teach 2 more months? Sounds like they want to get you into illegal immigration status territory, then get you deported so they can screw you out of final monies. Go figure.
