|
|
Does anyone know if Immigration requires a criminal background check if I am going to transfer my visa to a new job at the end of this contract?
I gave them a background check last year for my first, so all logic would say that I shouldn't need another one.....but, well, you know how that goes.
I know that this is a hard question to get concrete answers when the criminal check requirement is only about a year old as it is. |

Last I heard from immigration was that you only need to resubmit a new CRC if you haven't been outside of Korea between contracts. |

When I asked that question at the Busan Immigration Office, I was told that they keep the CRC on file and that it is valid for 6 months - so issuing a visa afer that will require a new check.
BTW, they required a CRC just because I added a 2nd job to my visa, i.e. it wasn't even a new visa. That's how my conversation with immigration got started.
As always, I'm sure we'll get varied responses on this one. |
