are there any schools out there that will pay you for the full 8 hours that you are there working....rather than just for the 6 hours of teaching?
I can understand that they don't want to pay you for preping classes, but if they make you prep at the school, I think you should get paid for that extra 2 hours...especially when they start giving you extra work to do like marking, etc. in that supposedly prep time. |

if you want an hourly WAGE instead of a monthly SALARY then flipping burgers or building auto parts can still be in your future |

I don't know where you are talking about, but I have had 2 hagwon jobs and 1 public school job so far. I was paid a flat monthly salary at the hagwons, and they didn't really cheat me out of hourly pay. In fact, I was offered overtime.
At the public school, they do have me working less hours on some days. Today, I only taught 80 minutes, and teachers didn't want a lesson because it was test day for the students. I will be getting paid for 6 hours and 40 minutes for non-teaching. I did some preparation, but the morning was for the teachers' class I thought I would be teaching LOL. If they told me earlier, I could have prepared for other stuff. Oh well, their loss. |

| The problem with an hourly wage in this gig is that during down time you wont make much. I taught one class on monday and will do one today due to the prep time for exams I have not taught other than that. I still want my salary. |
