hey all

I'm working on a ppt for one of my classes and was hoping someone here could tell me how to put a youtube video into a slide. I've seen it before but have never been able to figure out how to do it myself.

I'm sure some of you public school teachers have probably done this so could you please either reply with directions or send me a private message...?

thanks!

One way would be to download the video and then add it into the PPT. Google how to download youtube videos, there's a website that lets you do it.

It isn't too difficult This site has many modules for learning this and other features... http://www.internet4classrooms.com/on-line_powerpoint.htm

However, I wouldn't do it. Simply hyper link it and open in a new browser. Youtube embeded in ppt is very unstable. Not reliable at all and you can freeze your whole presentation with it. It's up to you but why complicate things when a link will do? Just use a picture and hyper link the photo of what you will present. Much better.

I've had success with embedding flash objects. I'm using Microsoft 2007, and there's a way to do it without any extra proggies. It's a bit manual, but check it out. You just gotta make sure you can get the movies into .swf format.

Check here:

and here:

I've never had any issues with this method and I taught a whole teacher's workshop that relied on the integrated A/V; it was received well and simply looked really cool.
