|
|
I work at a university and want to do a winter camp during our break. I have done numerous winter/summer camps, but I have usually been in between jobs when I did them. Once I was given permission by my hagwon to do a summer camp, other than that I just got a C4 visa.
So, I have my winter camp all planned and I go to get the papers signed by my university and they tell me that I should check with immigration about working so many hours because my university contract is 18 hours and I will be working about 30+ hours at the camp per week. HUH???
So, just to check before I actually went down there with all my paperwork I called immigration. And they indeed said that I am only allowed to work 17 hours at another job!!!!
Um, so has anyone heard of this before? Or dealt with this regulation? Is this just something they say, but don't really put into action when you go get permission from immigration. I have worked with loads of university professors at the camps I have done before and I just have never heard of this before. Is this maybe a provicial thing? I live in Daegu, but my camp is in Seoul.
Any suggestions? Thanks for any help... |

| It's because a legal, part-time job can not have more working hours than your full-time job. When teachers work at more than one school, immigration wants to see a copy of your working hours at both jobs for this very reason. |

Yes, that was explained when I called immigration.
So, do all university professors give false contracts to immigration so they can work at these camps that are well over the hours they work normally?
Need suggestions. I need to work a camp cause I need the money.
Thanks! |

| What if you got the university to change the contract to 31 hours during winter break? LOL, what will immigration do? I am curious. |
