Disregarding the current political unrest, if you could spend 6 days in either of these cities, which would you pick? Why? It would be during lunar new year and I have heard conflicting reports about how many things will be available in Beijing during that time.
Anyway, thoughts please. |

Bangkok
Purely because there is a 101% chance of me "extensively sampling" the local hospitality whilst there, whereas in Beijing my odds are shockingly reduced. |

I completely agree with the above post.
I would add, tho, that getting out of bangkok to a coastal city or an island would be even better. |

I only have 6 days though. Doing that would give me 4 days on an island. I went to Phuket in February and I'm not too fussed about going back there.
1 million won for 4 days doesn't seem like good value to me. |

Transportation would be crappier than before. Trains booked, roads crowded Things not open to eat, shop possibly. Cold as ****. |

And rooms booked too. Beijing is even colder than Seoul in winter. Not my idea of a vacation. |
