For those of you who didn't read the article, here it is: http://koreabeat.com/?p=2994#comment-22698

Mr. Lee Eun-ung, you are the kind of person that brings the good people of Korea down. If you want to improve your country, step in front of a bus or jump off the Han bridge at the first opportunity. By targeting a group of people like you are, you are promoting racism and inequality.

My country (Australia) and many others fought for the independence of your people because your citizenry were too weak to stand up to the stronger people who only number 2/5 of the total in your country. Yet, mothers in our countries lost their sons in the Korean war so people like you can openly discriminate against people from another country.

Korea has always fought against outside influences when they should have been looking in their own back yard. This arguably lead to your colonization and now it is leading to the country being held back by idiots like yourself. There are so many issues that are more important than a few "bad eggs" that choose to teach English in your country.

Currently, there is a large number of women that get raped and do not report it due to the difficulty of reporting something like that and actually being taken seriously. People drive through red lights and endanger everyone around them so they can reach their destination a minute earlier. All the while, police are watching. People ride motorbikes on the sidewalk where pedestrians are supposed to walk unhindered.

The education system in Korea makes people believe that Americans are a threat to their country even though the friendship (if you would call it that) has lead to the most prosperous and safest time in Koreas 5,000 year history. People study English for 6 years and still cant speak properly. The education has people believing that a tomato is a vegetable when just about every other country in the world knows that it is a fruit. You have suicides every year because students are so stressed about the education system that is failing them.

Lately, there was a huge protest about US beef. The protest was due to the lies being spread by the Korean media to try and stop people from buying the beef. There is an even bigger lie made by the Korean media which makes your people look stupid to everyone else as well. The story is about how fans in Korea kill people. People all over the world are now ridiculing your country because of this story: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fan_death. Wikipedia isnt a great site, but the information is spot on.

You media constantly makes the Korean people look stupid to us and it takes their mind off more important issues that should be fixed immediately. Maybe you should start a group to protest about all of the women that are from Korea but work illegally all over the world as a prostitute. Or the amount of Koreans living illegally in our countries.

A few years ago, my country had a shipment of 120kg of heroin. Can you guess where it came from? North Korea! The country that Koreans say that the Americans are interfering with. The drug problems are directly impacted due to the weak responses by the government of South Korea. Infact, it can be said that Kim Dae Joong and Noh moo hyon helped fund it.

Not so long ago, some citizens were kidnapped in Afghanistan. They took pictures in front of a sign which warned them about going there. Their stupidity inevitably lead to them being captured by the Taliban. In my opinion, these people deserved the position in which they found themselves in. Instead, the Korean government paid the enemy which has enabled them to conduct more sophisticated attacks against the army of my country which is over there fighting for the safety of both me and you. The army that once fought for your independence.

Currently, the US spends a huge amount of money protecting your country from the North. Then your country pays them back with lies and anti-American protests. Yes sir, it is people like you that are making your country worse and people from all countries are aware of you now. I hope that you are attacked and are made to feel pain on a scale you never thought possible when you are out following foreign teachers. You definitely are not a person that should be dictating how other people should act. You are a racist idiot and I hope someone makes you pay for your views with blood

Is this still just about that whole English Spectrum thing? Christ, it was one wet T-shirt contest; surely other more interesting things have happened since then.

You really think the US is protecting the South from NK?

That's about as dumb as the rest of your post.

This again? In case posters haven't noticed, guys like this are trivial.

And you are letting him 'win' by assigning him any legitimacy. Ignore him.

The best revenge is to live well.

The only thing that has kept Korea from becoming one of China's most Confucian provinces is the American military presence in NE Asia.

Korea is history's 동생, whether the 민족 care to admit it or not.

I'd have to agree. Milspecs, you can argue the motivation of the US army being here, but you're full of it if you think this place would be a sovereign nation without the US military. This whole country would be chewing shoe-leather for dinner and worshipping their glorious leader if not for the US.

So people from your country fought a war so that any foreigner can walk into Korea and break the law here?

Wow, way to insult pretty much any war veteran living or dead.

My Grandfather also fought for peoples freedom. Nearly died when his boat was torpedoed. Survived for days as the many of his still alive fellow officers, and other officers corpses were devoured by sharks.

he did this so that people could be free and to not be told what to do.

Enter the ignorant foreigners saying what better things this Korean guy should be doing with his time.

Yes Mr Eun Lee, before you tackle this problem of foreigners breaking the law in your country could you please tackle EVERY OTHER WORLD CONCERN before that. Then and only then will your time be well spent, and even when you do that we will still call you a whack job because I mean, you cant go after us perfect foreigners. We never do anything wrong in yor country.

Oh wait we do, but its okay because we blame you guys for making us feel and think the way we do about you because we have the awesome " 5 year old kid defence" of YOU DID IT FIRST.

good post OP - if the K government had even an ounce of integrity, not to mention an iota of courage - they'd arrest that lunatic for hate-mongering, attempts to defame and encourage violence against foreigners, not to mention flagrant violations of human rights by spying on innocent people.

perhaps all of us foreigners here should get a petition together and send it to the head of the UN and let him know just how peaceful his home country is Twisted Evil

what a sh*tpot this place is !! Rolling Eyes

Hamlet, the fact that you came up with that shows what an idiot you are. People from our countries fought for their independence and I think that we should have had more say in the short term future of the country after the war. It probably would have lead to a better situation for Koreans and for us as well. As it is, the Norks seem to have an unusually big voice in the country and here is a man that gives up his spare time to see if teachers are breaking the laws in Korea.

I wouldn't mind betting that one of you fellas had sex with his wife or girlfriend and he now wants revenge. Laughing It sounds like it couldn't have happened to a better person.

Hamlet, can you not see the problem. Foreign Englsih teachers are not breaking Korean laws. Rapings at knife point, kidnappings? So ridiculous its laughable. Are you as deluded as that man? Can you substantiate one case of a foreign English teacher raping or kidnapping or even molesting one Korean child? Even though it has never happened he feels the need to follow evil doing foreigners around in hopes of catching them.

Hamlet, I see your point. But given that it was foreigners who save South Korea's butt, don't you think South Koreans can show a bit of gratitude and improve their attitudes towards foreigners?

First of all, it is 50 years later. Secondly, people from your country fighting in a war had nothing to do with you or the OP. What the hell did you do? Christ, should I go around thanking americans and russians because their grandfathers saved Europe from nazism? I'd thank and very much respect a vet, but their descendants had nothing to do with it. I would be very amused if russian immigrants in Ireland started wondering why they don't have a say in our country.

The US has a done a lot stuff worth criticizing, but there's also a ton of immature whining based on a general inferiority complex, both in Korea and elsewhere.
