Do you ever run across paragraphs that just make you shake your head and wonder what the writer was thinking?

I was browsing around and stumbled across the article: "Does Death Exist? New Theory Says 'No'". And in the middle of it is the following paragraph:

'Christine had had a hard life. She had finally found a man that she loved very much. My younger sister couldn't make it to her wedding because she had a card game that had been scheduled for several weeks. My mother also couldn't make the wedding due to an important engagement she had at the Elks Club. The wedding was one of the most important days in Christine's life. Since no one else from our side of the family showed, Christine asked me to walk her down the aisle to give her away.'

Not only does it read like a truly bad short story, it adds nothing to the writer's point; but worse, it reveals what looks to me like an utterly dysfunctional family for no purpose. Is the point to publically embarrass his sister and mom? They deserve it, but what's the point?

Does anyone have a nominee that can beat this?

Most paragraphs written by desperation. The last one with the 1st Date Bites line was simultaneously brilliant and absurd.

This doesn't seem like a scientific theory at all.
