so the search function isn't working again Confused , and i was hoping to get some input on what i should do for a korean english teachers' workshop this winter break. all the information i've gotten so far is that i'll have 5 classes with each group of teachers, and that in the past FTs have taught things like sports, culture, teaching tips, etc.

does anyone have any suggestions of what worked well in their classes?

Try http://setiteachers.ning.com

Lots of downloads, the site will remain public for a few more months.

Try the English Factory book -- a good book with nice lessons.

Fishead,

Though they say some valuable things, they really offer nothing specific about coteaching but rather go off track into just plain standard teaching methodology/delivery. Further, they clearly haven't read much on the subject -- even getting the basic terminology wrong! There is seldom "team teaching" in the EFL classroom -- rather coteaching and some form of it. Team teaching supposses two homogenious and well trained equals. Seldom the case. See Marily Friend for a lot of good stuff on coteaching if interested. Also, my own folders are chalk full of stuff from my own research. Here is what Marily has to say about the term "team teaching".....

Quote:
The term team teaching often is used to describe the situation in which two general education teachers combine classes and share instruction. In an elementary school, this might occur when two fourth grade teachers decide to open the retractable wall that divides their rooms and teach the entire group as one. In a secondary school, this might occur when an English teacher and a history teacher combine two classes to present an American studies course. Co-teaching is different from this type of team teaching in two important ways: First, in co-teaching the teacher-student ratio is drastically improved. Second, in co-teaching, two significantly different orientations toward teaching are blended.

Anyways, it is EFL. Anyone can write anything it seems and even get published... Smile

I did some extra classes for the teachers at my school and they enjoyed watching video clips from around the world. Then I'd ask them questions like the similarities and differences between Korea and the clip they saw. Samantha Brown is great for this!

This is good if your teachers can actually express themselves and aren't like most students ("teecha...me...english...good?!?")

it's a district run workshop, so i really have no clue as to their levels. i do know a couple of my co-teachers are coming and their levels are quite decent.

thanks to everyone who posted, and thanks for the link ddeubel, i'm looking at it as we speak!
