i tried searching a few different words and phrases but all i kept getting were blank pages....

i will spend 3-5 days in seoul next week. i need to stop by the american embassy and would like to see the christmas lights at night around chunggechun. other than that i don't have any real itinerary yet.

i am trying to figure out where to stay- what area of seoul. around seoul station seems most convenient and it seems the jungno area could have a lot to offer. i stayed at a 'love motel' in pusan and it worked out well. ideally i will only spend 30-45,000 a night for accommodation. my only real requirements are: clean, fairly comfortable, conveniently located near a subway station, and not creepy or shady.

specific motel names aren't necessary but would also be appreciated, just a point in the right direction/neighborhood and what subway stops i should be looking around. is seoul station area adequate or should i head toward other areas? i haven't really been to seoul before so the more specifics the better!

if you have any 'must dos' in seoul, feel free to offer them Very Happy

thank you!

I would recommend Sinchon due to the number of love motels there (you can see the room before you rent it), it is in a party area, lots of good restaurants, young, educated students all over and it is only 4 stops from City Hall/Cheonggyechon/Gwanhwamun area. Seoul station area is worthless except for Namdaemun market and Namsan.

If you go to Sinchon subway station, take exit 2 and walk around the area between exit 2 and Sinchon Station (the old train station, not the subway station). You'll see the motels.
