|
|
How can I get things that I download to save on the D drive instead of the C? My C is small and getting full, while my D is nearly empty. I know how to do it if the site ASKS where I want it of course, but so many sites don't ask!
Thanks! |

Thanks so much! It didn't work exactly like the directions said it would, but that's not suprising! I DID figure it out though!
Thanks again! |

That sounds like overkill. You should just get the application you're using to download stuff to download it to a folder on the D drive instead. |

And exactly how do I do that? I download games from a website and they automatically go to the C drive. No options for downloading to a different drive. |

If you're using a downloading client like uTorrent or eDonkey then you need to open the options of that program and set the "put active downloads in" and "move completed files to" options to folders in your 'D' drive. |

Which version of Windows do you have? If you have Vista, you can put all your documents in basically any drive or directory you wish. Just go to the Start menu and right click the folder that you wish to customize and click properties. Click the location tab, and type the directory where you want everything to go. |

My guess is she's been downloading stuff using Internet Explorer. Someone should show her how to set it to ask her every time where to save the file. I use Firefox and don't want to mess with IE. |

moving your my documents off your c drive is a good idea, prevents ythe saving and deleting of stuff on your c drive all of the time, which cuts down the need for defraging, plus if something goes wrong with your OS partition all your docos are safe |
