does western union do this sorta stuff? or do i have to go through my nonghyup bank? i have all my cdn bank info

I always did it through my bank in Korea.

Go there with your Canadian bank information + passport/alien card and you shouldn't have any problem.

If you go to a small branch, though, they may not know how to do it at first and it may take a while. Make sure you have the transit number for your bank in Canada. I can't remember what else was necessary; it's been quite a while since I sent money home.

There is a fee for sending money and your Canadian bank will most likely charge you something for receiving ($15-20). In Korea, the fee depends on how much you send. At KEB, you had to send more then 5 million won to have you fee increased, but I can't recall how much it was exactly, but it was similar to what my Canadian bank charged me.
