CatGenie is unlike all cat litter boxes. It does more than any automatic litter boxes. The CatGenie acts like a cat box, works like a toilet, and cleans like a modern washing appliance.

1) CatGenie requires a one-time, simple do-it-yourself hook up to cold water and an electric outlet.

2) CatGenie uses litter-like Washable Granules to satisfy kitty�s need to dig and cover.

3) When kitty goes, the liquid drains away from the Granules so only the waste gets flushed.

4) When cleaning starts, the GenieHand scoops out the solid waste, which gets liquefied for safe, easy removal.

5) Fresh water fills the basin and the GenieHand scrubs and scours cat box and Granules.

6) The cat-safe SaniSolution decontaminates the Granules and cat box of germs and odors.

7) Liquefied waste and sudsy water get flushed down toilet or drain and safely out of the home.

8 ) A hot-air blower completely dries the Granules and cat box for kitty�s comfort.


Why I'm selling it:

I moved here over a year ago with my two cats from the states, and after a few months I discovered this litter box, called the "Cat Genie." Long story short, I paid a TON of money to have it shipped over with enough supplies to last me at least six months. However, my cats are too big for it (as I said, I brought them from the states so they are big and beefy), and thus my $1000+ litter box/accessories has just been taking up space in my laundry room.

Here's the basic run-down of the litter box, though of course you can find more at the website:

1. You put biodegradable pellets in the litter box. They're washable (that's what the machine does).
2. You set the timer when you want the box to run (1-4 times a day. Twice is more than enough for two cats even).
3. You connect it to a water source and a drain (in Korea this is pretty easy since most laundry rooms are ready to go and even a bathroom works OK, the waste just flushes into the toilet).
4. Done! It does everything else. Oh, you DO need a US power-converter, since this is a US product, but you can buy those (if you don't already have a spare) for like $20 from e-Mart or Costco.


I have it all set up at my place, so you could always come by and see it in action if you're interested.

Basically, the box and all the accessories came out to roughly $500, and shipping (sadly) cost about the same. I paid over $1000 for everything in the end, which by today's exchange rate would be about 1,472,900.00 KRW. Obviously I'm taking a BIG hit asking for only 500,000 KRW, but I just want it out of my laundry room, and I want SOMEBODY to benefit from what should be an awesome self-cleaning litter box.

My only warning is that if your cats are really big (my big one is about 15 pounds, seriously), I wouldn't get it, unless you KNOW they don't mind small litter boxes.

I also bought the "dome" so the litter box is enclosed, which causes less spillage of the granules and makes your cat feel more secure (maybe?)

I tried to put pictures up, but I wasn't able to for some reason, although what I'm selling is basically the Tuxedo Package, though I had to buy it in separate installments (and pay LOTS of shipping).

You'll get a full amount of granules and an extra box (to add a little bit as the amount of granules gets low over time). All in all you shouldn't need more granules for at least a year. Also included are 5 brand-new cartridges, which should last you 5 months with two cats, 10 months with 1 (unless he/she pees/poops a lot).

Anyway, get a hold of me if you're interested; it's easier on you, good for your cats, better for the environment, etc. I just wish my cats were smaller and liked it. I live in Samsung-dong, and know my way around Korea fairly well. I could deliver the box to you, and if you buy me a beer I'll even help you install it in your house.

Please don't ask me to lower the price--if you were to buy the Cat Genie right now it would cost you 543,000 KRW NOT including tax or SHIPPING (upwards of 400 dollars), so I'm already as low as I can go on this.
