|

Has anyone done an undergrad or Masters here in Korea? I've been teaching here for almost 2 years and the plan was to save up to pay for my Masters back in Ireland or England. But recently I've been thinking about staying in Korea and studying here if it's possible. I've got a BA in Philospohy and was thinking about doing a Masters in International Relations or Conflict Resolution or something similar
Does anybody know anything or have any experience doing a Masters here. How do you apply> What are the entry requirements? How much does it cost? etc..
Any info at all would be helpful
Cheers

Have you thought about staying here and studying via distance learning? If you're interested in studying via a UK uni, then Lancaster are about to start offering an MA in Diplomacy and International Relations via distance learning. Leicester also offer master's degrees in International Relations via online. |

Currently doing a grad degree here. The best thing to do is look around at schools that you may be interested in attending, and checking their various requirements as many universities and individual programs have different stipulations.
To answer a few questions quickly, the application process is pretty straight-forward. The most difficult part is the sponsorship documents, where you have to prove you have at least 10,000 USD in a bank account somewhere, or otherwise have someone who does have that much to act as your sponsor (note this is not a payment, simply a sponsorship for the visa.
The costs for full tuition in most programs range about 3.5 million won per semester...but typically foreign students (and in particular western students) are almost guaranteed to get anywhere from 50% -100% scholarship.
Any more specific questions, please feel free to PM |

If you're going to do IR, do Korea University, SNU, or Yonsei, as they are a member of APSIA, and more likely to be recognized outside of Korea.

A load of people have done their MA or MBA here, mostly at a Graduate School of International Studies at SNU, Korea U., or Yonsei. These schools in particular have strong programs in International Relations. All courses and all thesis work are conducted in English.
Ewha and Sogang also have GSIS. SKK and Sejong have joint or dual degree programs with US universities.
The search engine isn't great, but you should be able to pull up at least a few old threads. The topic has been done to death on here. |
