The only escapee of North Koreas most brutal prison camp has lived to tell us a story of unspeakable horror. Starved of food and common humanity, Shin proves that gulags are still a tragic reality.

So guys that are similar to the SS are still operating and bullying a population right now in good old 2008.

I never forgave the North Koreans for how they tortured and treated James Bond, although the overseer was kind of hot.

Okay, joking aside, we've kind of known about NK and their tactics for a very long time. We were talking about this sort of thing when I was in the Army in South Korea twenty years ago.

But yes, it's horrible that it's still happening. Just because we already know about it doesn't make it any more tolerable.

I wonder if the North Korean Leadership know where The Hague is?

Perhaps they need to be reminded what "Crimes Against Humanity" are.

Thanks for posting that link.

There was a live presentation by a LiNK representative down here in Gwangju just yesterday afternoon.
I missed it, so, just now I watched the clip you posted,
and then another hour-long piece actually put up by Google as part of their TechTalk series,
including a translated presentation and a good questions and answers session with Shin.

Highly recommended viewing for anyone who's set foot on this peninsular:

If anyone here was at the GIC talk by the LiNK person, please feel free to post some kind of review or reaction to the presentation here, or to Gwangju News.

If you really want to read a good book about North Korea, I recommend Aquariums of Pyongyang: Ten Years in the North Korean Gulag by Chol- hwan Kang.

It works, but it has been blocked by South Korea's filters. You have to be viewing it without South Korean localization filters. Change to view Youtube as someone from another country.

What a bunch of crap that the fliters block it out. That is the problem. This country doesn't want its citizens to know how horrible the North is. This kind of thing makes me sick to my stomach. Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad
