| Okay so I work for EPIK in a public middle school. I have most of February completely free (no camps, no chair-warming, etc) and I am going to be going to Thailand during my official 7-days vacation time. However, I have some friends who live in China and I was hoping to get away for a long weekend at some point, for maybe 4 or 5 days. Is it possible for me to abscond for a few days without having to worry about any reprisals from work? |

Why use sick days? Doing so is is frowned apon (even if you're on 'death's door'); plus, there's a chance the co-teacher will be coming around to 'check up' on you... or want to take you to the hospital.
If the OP is not expected to be at school, he/she should just go (without telling anyone) and no one will be the wiser. |

What's your real name nate? I'm going to tell my mummy about your plan to cheat EPIK. You're a 'real' sociopath. |

Just DO NOT let them see your passport for any reason
afterwards!! At anytime.
Going is no problem if you don't say a word.
However, I know a couple of cats that had to "pay back"
The time they took off. I mean they didn't get paid for 1-2mths
Their and my school routinely ask to see my passport for this or that
during the year and after vacation.
I simply ask what the need and give them a copy of that ONLY. I do not let them have it period. My to friends did and well ...............
Thats just IMHO |

| Well for SMOE, immigration will inform your school if you leave the country since we are government employees. I`m guessing EPIk is the same deal. |

IS THAT REALLY TRUE???/
I plan on using a sick day to go to thailand in 3 weeks. I have 8 out of 9 days off from work and 1 class in the middle. My friends are all going to thailand so I thought it would be stupid to not go for one chair warming day. I plan on calling in sick. Will my school know i lied???? |

| Immigration does not inform your school when you leave the country. However, if your school asks Immigration if you have left the country, they will tell them. |

sick days are in your contract - so freakin' what if they are "frowned upon"
you don't think leaving the friggin country w/o permission would be "frowned upon?"
