I've read alot of negative things about Itaewon on various websites(including Dave's). I am wondering if Itaewon is particulary dangerous? or just f**king boring?? I like to visit all different kinds of places to have fun and sometimes that includes sleazy/rough areas if it has what I'm looking for. Is 'limelight' any good for a laugh??

Yep, its fun to party at. Yep its gross and dirty and sleazy. Ive heard it can be dangerous, but ive never experienced it, unless it was being followed or harassed by Nigerians or Arabs.
Its a haven for foreigners of course, Soju houses everywhere, and a pub in every building along the stretch. Its great.
Limelight is ok. I digged it more when it first opened, now, it just has basically taken the Hollywood basements crowd.
One thing is for certain, you can't leave the place without getting laid, puking, and in an argument. Its great! |

Yeah, drop the character traits known as "common sense" and "good taste" :)

I agree 'Limelight', while still THE PLACE TO BE. Its not nearly as fun as when it first opened up.
For one, they keep raising the prices. First it was 5000 with a free beer. Then 10000 with a free beer. Now its 10000 and no free beer. Once you go in, beer is minimum 5000.
Back when prices were reasonable, I'd definetely go in and always had a good time. Now I go in at those prices and feel obligated to sit for a expensive beer or two and head out the door 20 minutes later with 20000 gone. Its just not worth it anymore in my opinion because of that.
At the same time.. for 'best place' to go.. it still is. But there are 20 other half-way decent places to get a beer that also has cheaper beer.. and women go there too.. so its not an absolute necessity if you don't want to go.
I'm also curious why is that most women like to ONLY go to the most expensive places?? or so it seems. |

I thought that it implied that the guys who were there had thick wallets and lots of metallic coloured credit cards.. :D
If you're rich enough to play with the big boys, then you're good enough to root.

Because so many girls here are "money based". If you look rich, or spend money on them, they open their legs.
As much as I hate this, I have sadly learned it's the truth. Someone said it's because less than 50 years ago, marriage and such was about survival of the family, etc. ...
Find a rich man, and all of your troubles will go away.
Guess that's why the divorce rate is growing so fast. Either they realize they aren't happy, or just find someone richer, or are just a bunch of cheaters.
Probably the last. I don't have much faith in most koreans these days -- most, not all. |

Agreed.
I'd rather hit Kangnam/Apkujong Dong or Hwaehwa (sp?) for some good times than Itaewon. |
