Hey,

I order from gmarket now and then. pretty decent prices. anyways, I actually have KB star card with a visa logo on it, and it is not accepted. They have a list of cards that they will accept. most of them seem hard to get if your a foreigner. i've tried and gave up.

But they have a nice system in place for just us foreigners. You can pay them directly from your current bank account. here's how it works.

1. Register for an account.
2. Browse around for what you want to buy and click the Buy button.
3. Scroll down to Step 3 to the Payment information section
4. In the Cash section, look for Korean Bank Transfer (Personal Deposit Account) and click that radio button
5. Click the View Account No. button just to the left
6. Pick the bank of your choice to create a virtual account number.
7. You should see an account number appear shortly. Write that number down and close this popup window
8. Finish filling in the rest of the page.

So now, just go to your ATM, and transfer that exact amount to the account number that you wrote down. The name on the account will show up as Gmarket in korean.

What's nice about gmarket is that you have 7 days to return your merchandise too if you don't like it for some reason. But you need to follow up cause each product you buy comes from individual vendors.

One last thing, use Internet Explorer, Firefox has issues with gmarket.

Ok, hope this helps.

I agree with what DJ said. Let me add, the first time you sign up, it might be good to have a Korean with you to walk you through it if can't read Korean well. After signing up, it is pretty much a breeze.

agree. use the bank transfer. i can't use korean or American credit cards either as the text gets all garbled up in the verification/security part of entering card info.
