If you're a user of Daejeon's public transportation system be advised that
the system is getting a complete overhaul on December 30. Bus routes are changing in both numbers and destinations, there will be four kinds of buses in three colours and new infrastructure such as shelters with more helpful information within them.
Translation of the notices from the City is in progress over at http://socius. or.kr, and while not completely finished, the bulkof it is up and ready.
This also means that the bus maps that have been distributed around the city will be fit for recycling at the end of the month. A tutorial on using the site will be up in the next few days. |

Any idea on whether or not they're changing the godforesaken system that seems to still be used elsewhere in the nation, wherein drivers get paid by the number of circuits they complete within their schedule,
thereby encouraging them to drive like maniacs and endanger every other road user they can pass?
If they use a different payment system for bus drivers in Daejon as of next year,
the next contract I seek in this country will be there. |
