So I am going to Shanghai for the lunar new year and need a place to stay. I heard public transit is a biotch so I want to be close to lots.
I heard Nanjing Road is a good place (the main shopping,bar,restraunt area) but can anyone tell me where a godo place to stay is as far as area?
I am not really looking to see all the sites b/c its going tobe so busy but just sort of experience Shanghai so any help would be great helps as I need to book a hotel ASAP. thanks |

| Maggies backpackers is close to chinese and western areas and the bus out front goes to most places for very cheap. You can stay in dorm rooms or private rooms. |

| Fast? Do you know when Lunar New Years is? Stay anywhere in metro Shanghai. Taxi's are cheap, and the subway is easy. Stay outside the downtown, and you'll get a better room for cheap. The 35 cents the taxi cost makes up for your location. |
