I'm toying with the idea of maybe putting the students into high and not high level next year. I teach in Busan in an elementary school, and I simply teach out of a book with ready made lesson plans/DVD-ROM etc.

The problem is, the kids who go to a hagwon think it's piss easy and don't really listen, while the others think it's too damn hard and so they don't listen.....enter Korean teacher to explain things....NOT!

Is it a good idea of having two lesson plans, one more challenging and one straight out of the book? good or bad idea and why?
It will only work if next years K teacher actually pays attention in class and doesn't spend our class with headphones on learning English or having her back to me doing dance routines, not saying one word all class.

If you could trade off with each group getting 20 minutes with her and 20 with you that might be a lot more productivve. Or you could give one group puzzles and worksheets while you worked with the other, each for 20 minutes.
