Yes, I'm a newbie and forgive me if this has been asked (site search is turning up jack) but has anyone ever flown Air Canada before? I've got a long flight next month and was wondering what to expect. Thanks.
Oh and here's a picture of of Ondol, how does it work? |

Much better than the domestic service. Flight attendants are a bit on the old side though. Most likely you'll either be on a Boeing 767 or Airbus 330. Flight from Vancouver->Seoul is 10 hours, or was it 9? Can't remember.
I last flew them in the summer of '07 and they didn't have the personal displays on the back of the seats. Hopefully, they have changed that, but I wouldn't count on it. Food, get the option of Korean or western. |

I like Air Canada for international flights - I flew AC this year from Toronto - Vancouver - Seoul and back, and had seat-back tvs for the whole trip and good food.
The flight attendants for both international flights were older ladies and were very nice to the people who were nice to them, and helpful with bags and whatnot when we got on and off the plane.
Air Canada gets a bad rap around here but I've always had excellent experiences with them.
Just a heads up, as with most domestic carriers, the Toronto-Vancouver route doesn't have meal service anymore, but they do sell $2-$10 snacks and sandwich boxes and things like that. |

Thanks guys
I'm flying from Incheon to Vancouver and then back home to New York. No meal on the leg to NY though.
Hopefully the flight'll be decent enough, and I'll be able to catch some sleep. |

If you have never been to Vancouver before make sure you take a few days for a stopover. Awesome city and probably one of the most beautiful. |

Next time. I'm only on vacation a little over a week, and I decided to go home and clear my head before I finish out the contract.
My girlfriends been to vancouver and she loved it. As the koreans say, someday I will go there. I will be spending a little over two hours in the airport there though. How's the airport? Nice? |

I like the airport at Van. It's spacious and has a natural feeling to it. Also love the native art. It's one of my favs actually. |

That's the cr@ppy thing about domestic service in NA these days, or at least in Canada. That Toronto-Vancouver leg is like 5 or 6 hours and you don't get a free meat. When you get a free meal on the 1.5 hour hop from Incheon-Osaka. I guess price/mileage is a factor, but still 5 hours is long to go without a meal. |

Yeah, I agree with you - The last time I flew to Korea my flight left Toronto at 6.30am and that 5 hour stretch is tough to get through without anything to eat. Saving money anywhere they can, I guess.
Mike Grey, the Vancouver airport is gorgeous, I think it's my favourite. Beautiful greenspace and tons to do and explore if you have a bit of time on your stopover. Hope it's a good trip. |

Stay away from Air Canada and stick with an Asian airline like Asiana. Much, much better customer service.
The North American airlines are in state of decline, financially and morally. |

Thanks. I've got about three hours to explore the airport.
Hopefully I can get a decent meal in it. I'll load up on snacks before the flight. Hopefully that'll help. |
