back in the ol' days when I left the US they weren't nearly as common as they are now - ok, that was in 2003 Laughing

so now I'm planning on relocating in the late spring/early summer and will be buying a vehicle - any advice on gps systems? should I look at them here or like most everything else, will it be cheaper to get it back home?

and I'm thinking like cell phones they change languages pretty easy but maybe that's not the case?

anyway, can anyone advise? would one bought here even work back in the U.S.? does that matter?

Can you read Korean?

My favorite is the Inavi K7.

Coolest maps and very functional.

When I'm in Korea I often drive either my brother-in-law's car, which has an i-navi (not sure what model), or my father-in-law's which has one provided by his Hyundai dealer - Pontus is the name on the device, but it comes up on screen as "Gini".

Brother-in-law raves about the i-navi, although to be honest, it doesn't seem to do much that the other maker doesn't, as far as I can see. I haven't given either a particularly thorough inspection though.

I did notice that the Gini one is more up to date for speed camera info and asked b-i-l about this. He said that he only gets his i-navi updated by taking it in to an approved dealer, which seemed a bit bizarre to me. Anyone know-is that really necessary?
The Gini gps can be updated via the internet very quickly and easily, and I've done it myself a few times.

As for other languages, I don't think you can change the display to English. I noticed there were a few different voice guide options and changed that to Busan dialect for a laugh. Not sure if English was an option.
