The guys (two friends) who invented Kitty used to be my students at NOVA in Tokyo. Nice enough guys...who had no idea of the horror they had unleashed. |

How old are your students? Hello Kitty has been around since 1974. |

Plenty of older people studied at NOVA. In fact, I used to have classes where the youngest person was in their sixties (and the only open lesson would invariably be the one about school/pop culture/some irrelevant crap).

There was also a "Hello Kitty" love motel room in Osaka. I never went to that particular room but I went to the same motel and saw the pictures on the wall. Cute? Yes. Sexy? Not a chance. |

Buy her one for Christmas but make sure you have a camera ready when she takes it out of the wrapping paper |

Guys, we have no one to blame other than ourselves. We want those kinds of silly submissive girls who act all dingy and dumb and girly and walk with their toes pointed in and knees slightly bent (especially Asian girls)... the terrible side effect is that they like hello kitty. |

"Die Kitty Die!" was a phrase I taught as my students followed my lead in ripping up a hello kitty stuffed toy
in a 5-minute minilesson, that class learned that verb and never forgot it since (two years later they still refer to it: "What happened to Hello Kitty?" i ask, "Hello Kitty died" they answer with a smile)
me bad
