I'm living about an hour away from Itaewon, Sinchon, and Hongik University. I'm reluctant to go out drinking on the weekends because I don't want to wait until 5.30 am for the subway to start back up. What do others do?

Strange to base this kind of decision on what others do.

I'm interested in this answer too, as this has precluded me from hitting Seoul at night like I've wanted to.. not every weekend necessarily but from time to time.

you mean get back home at 11?'

I'm guessing "the nightlife" only BEGINS to get going at this time? (if it's anything like one in major US citiies?)

if they could start the trains going again at 4am.. that;d be a good thing.

5:30 is TOO effing late.

You gotta hit the subway by that time or you are SOL and waiting for the train to start running again in the early am.

If you're talking about partying that late, "Passed out in a gutter" should probably be added to the poll.

The crazy taxi unions in this country are the reason for the subway is not running 24 hours. If I am wrong on this, someone correct me.

I don't know the correct reply, but that makes a lot of sense come to think about it.

I lived in Suwon for a year. All I did was start dating a girl who lived in Hongdae, and then I spent all weekend there. It worked fine.
