i want to go to Incheon and out to some of the islands tomorrow. What's a quick, cheap way of getting there from Seoul?
I know the subway goes out to Incheon but I guess this takes a long time as it has to stop at loads of stations. Is there a direct train? If so, from what station? |

If you live in western Seoul the fastest way is to take the 5-line to Gimpo and then transfer to AREX - the airport railroad. It only makes about 4 stops and takes about 40-50 minutes.
If you are anywhere else in Seoul you can probably find a bus. |

I think he was looking for the PORT and not the AIRPORT.
www.buspia.co.kr (assuming you can work your way through Korean) and find a bus. It will take about an hour.
I don't know if the congnamul website is up again but it does the same in English.

Just take the express line to dongincheon. From yongsan it will take about 40min. Thats the fastest you will ever get into incheon. At dongincheon you get off and continue to the last stop by way of the regular line, which is called Incheon. From there your not far from the warfs/ports |

where do I find it at yongsan? I've only ever used the subway lines to and from yongsan. Do you have a gate number or anything? Can I still use T-money on it? |

all the trains at Yongsan are in that one semi-outdoor area. I know that there are signs for the Dongincheon express train but I can't remember which track. Im sure it will be easy to find though.
As far as T-Money, I would imagine that you can use it since the express train is in the same area as the other trains. |

I agree that taking the express train to Dongincheon is the best way to do it. However, once you are there it is still a ways to get to the port where most of the ferries leave from. Once you get to the end of the line you need to get a bus or a taxi to 여객선터미널 (Yoekeksun Terminal) I think there are also a few ferries that leave from 월미도 (Wolmido).
By the way, 이작도 (E-jakdo) is really nice, but probably more of a summer destination. |
