So I know that in korea foreigners can get deported for HIV....but what about a general STD check up, how confidential are they? If u had another disease would it get repoted to immigration/schools? (like HSV / HPV as i guess these could count as diseases u could pass on to others)

Back home we have gum clinics where it's all done by number not name so doesn't go on your medical record. Is there anything like this here?

1# Western concept of privacy is FAR different than it is here. Don't worry about it.

2# Diseases that are being checked for are HIV and TB, and some testing for HEP A/B.

3# You have to understand that TB and HEPITITUS A/B are VERY common here in Korea and there are deaths each year from it. ALL TEACHERS are screened for it regarless if foreign or Korean.
TB that can be found here is a member of the resistant strains from North Korea and China.
If you get it, it could kill you quite easily. Best to be safe and keep others safe.

Next thing to learn about is that Koreans are very communal so if someone had a disease that could spread easily, they could easily harm their family. Communal societies tend to have greater risks of these diseases than non.
