Hey folks,
Today for your purchasing pleasure we have a Hyosung 250cc comet. I have had this bike for about a year and it is time to part with it. The previous owner had done quite a bit of work to it... I can dig through my old e-mails and get the details of that...
This year I have polished various aluminum parts where the paint was fading.
Replaced a cam chain tensioner (last week) it was leaking oil so I had it replaced. at the same time the timing was checked and so was the valve clearances...everything was spot on. (cost 20,000 won)
I found the rear cylinders exhaust pipe has developed a leak, so I had that replaced a while back (cost 30,000 won)
New o-ring chain and sprocket done 2,500K ago (5 oil changes back) this was pricey all of 100,000 won
I have done oil changed every 500K.
The maintenance for this bike is very cheap....
She runs really well.
The only negatives I can think of
The true mileage is unknown, the original speedo broke somewhere along the line and was replaced with a used unit from another bike... works perfectly but the K's on it are not all for this bike. I have put 4,500k's on it this year.
The gas tank has a old ball sized dent on the left with touch up paint, and there is some odd stain on the paint of the tank...looks like someone spilled superglue or another adhesive that has hardened.
Mechanically I would give this bike a 10/10 (used but in PERFECT running condition)
Aesthetically I would give it a 6/10 the tank being a big part of that and there are some small rust spots that need sanding and touch up...
now for the pictures....

Edit: I guess since it is winter I should lower my price, now asking 1,4 for it.

Ok well, I guess its time for a price drop.
1,4 million won takes it home. I can deliver it anywhere in the country.
If you want to keep my plates on it then do that, If want to do it legally we can transfer the papers it does not matter to me.
Don't worry about the licenses they will not ask to see it when you register it. I have driven it all year with out the korean motorcycle licenses.
Make some offers!
I know that it is winter and spring is a ways off, but when spring comes you will wish you had bought this bike. I have taken it all aroudn Korea this year and had some great trips on it with my girlfriend. It can do 120KPH with two people and our traveling gear, without any issue. |

Nice bike mate! Hang in there, hard to sell them in winter. I have the same bike but in red. If anyone buys it, they can get a completely new tank for about 150,000 won, very easy to fit.
In my opinion, not a bike for the fainthearted. Very quick, built for rat running, tends to push you to ride beyond your ability level. Would not suggest it for the brand new rider. However, that said, a hell of a good ride, brilliant fun! Awesome gas mileage and will do fine with a pillion.
I bought mine to ride while my Honda Magna 750 was waiting on parts from Japan. Loved it so much, decided to keep it as my backup, winter riding bike. If my bike ends up going down due to ice I'd rather it was the, cheaper to repair, Comet.
So, if you're looking for a fun, fast, bike at a very low cost, with papers for easy re-sale, this looks like a good deal. Best time to buy, winter, before the summer price hike comes. I reckon they could nudge you a bit on the price eh mate?
Good luck!
PS: If anyone buys this bike, has little riding experience, and wants a day's training, let me know. Twenty years experience and always ready to help another biker stay upright! |

::SOLD::
I am sure the new owner will be just as happy with this bike as I was. The previous owner was so happy he e-mailed me a few times wanting to buy it back... even thought she shows alot of wear, that 250 was friggin awesome. |
