Hi there
I am in SA at the moment and I would like to go to Korea
Just trying to find out which is the best recruiter that's SA-based?
Can you recommend one, preferably from own experience?
Thank you

Not sure about SA recruiters, but Korvia is a Korea-based recruiter. Personally, they did a good job in getting me what I wanted. Quick and constant contact, not bad English, and no b.s. really made them shine for me.

That's informative.

SA's are lucky to be making 2.0. Razz

Jokes aside, recruiters are bad. Not all are trying to screw you, but they're trying to make a quick buck. Don't know if I dealt with them in my job searches, but...

SA recruiters are scum from what i've heard. Two of my friends were told they had to pay a recruiting fee(YOU DON'T). They went through a Cape Town based company.

For Public schools look at contacting SMOE/GEPIK/EPIK directly, use google to find the websites.

Be wary of Hagwons and thier contracts.

If you wish to use a recruiter: ESL Planet was good from personal experience, Korvia and Footprints are also decent.

Don't use SA-based recruiters. Most will try and charge you a fee, and they aren't well informed.

I used Korvia, and they were very good.

I've got tons of info on this issue here:

SA recruiters operate in cahoots with a Korean counterpart and both get a bite of the apple. They should therefore be avoided, but to say that they are not well informed is wide of the mark. They have to be nimble and quick to stay in busness.

They are useful for a jobseeker who otherwise would be stretched to get a job, be it poor accent or ethnicity standing in the way.

Well, that would explain how they stay in business. But all the ones I've had dealings with have been really misinformed about taxes, pension payments and bureaucratic paperwork.

Either way, I'd say avoid SA-based recruiters.

parkenglish.com is Korean based. But they do a bang up job of helping you. I'd recommend them if you want a well paying job straight off of the turnip truck.
