|

I may be in the market for a new TV. Are the best prices found online, or at a brick and mortar store like LG, Samsung, or High Mart?
Anyone have recommendations on a TV that's no more than 700-800,000? Or is this too cheap to get a 42"? |

I'd also like to know.
Some people were telling me that I would have a hard time getting a 32" for 600,000, so I think you'd be looking at more than 700-800,000 for a 42". |

shop online here (you must use IE):
http://www.enuri.com/view/Listmp3.jsp?cate=020111
Then go to ETLand in Yongsan and compare prices at SEVERAL vendors there on the ground floor. You should walk out with something the same, or slightly cheaper, than what you'll pay on Enuri.
All of these TV's come from the same place, and if they're new (from a legitimate seller) you'll get warranty service from the same LG/Samsung people you would if you bought them from an LG/Samsung boutique store. My advice -- NEVER buy from a boutique. If you do, they WILL NOT give you your money back, or let you choose another brand if you have issues (because they don't sell them). |

32" TV's here: http://www.enuri.com/view/Listmp3.jsp?cate=020111
If you run your mouse over the TV icons, you can choose the size you want to search on.
Again, NEVER EVER buy from a Samsung or LG boutique store. I had so many problems and they would NEVER give my money back. Buy online or from ETLand. The TV's are all delivered from the same place anyway, and the service guys are all the same.
Most of the online retailers don't actually have their own stock -- they get them wholesale from the same big warehouses. Just make sure the one you are getting is not a refurb. |

Do the places at ETLand negotiate prices?
I went there a few weeks back just to look around, and I was quoted some decent prices, but I wasn't ready to buy, so I didn't bother trying. |

ETLand sure do. Prices on show are often overpriced. Yesterday I picked up an LG 32LG30D for 780,000 won including the stand and installation. The price shown next to the TV was 1,030,000 won. Prices can be negotiated or there was a sale on |

2 more questions:
1) This might be a dumb one, but how specific are the model numbers? Do they release a new version of each model number each year, or would it have a different number? I would think they would be different numbers, but from looking around I'm not too sure.
2) Is ETLand open on Sundays? Will they do same day delivery/installation (on a Sunday?)? |

There can be multiple model numbers. Sometimes the manufacturers release 2 models of something with minor variations every 4 to 12 months. Usually, several of these models are available, depending on who you go to.
So yes, check model numbers and make sure you're getting what you expect with that TV.
Model numbers between here and other countries often differ greatly. |

Great advice form bassexpander. The only thing I would add is if you are going to purchase online, goto a brick and mortar store to actually look at the unit and compare the picture from various models to choose which one you prefer. |

That doesn't seem like a good deal to me. |

Be sure to check out Costco.
They have a great return policy (at least they do in the US... bet it's the same in Korea). Everyone else you buy from fights tooth and nail NOT to let you return the TV, and will drag it out as long as possible if there are problems. One typical tactic is to send a repairman to your house to tell you there's nothing wrong with it when there obviously is. I've been through that numerous times. One LCD I had had a very cloudy screen... NO PROBLEM -- WITHIN SPEC, they said! Another PDP I had buzzed loudly... NO PROBLEM -- within spec! I think you get the picture.
I was in Costco yesterday, and they had a lot of 42 inch TV's for around 1 million. They had a 32" for around that same 760,000 won or so price. |
