Of the thirty or so websites I routinely visit, both small and large, populated and not, Dave's has got to be the slowest. That and it's forums are the most outdated of any of the web forums I know.

What does Dave do, outsource his servers to Mali where it only costs $2 per month to lease a single server that is powered by donkeys roped to some kind of pulley device which is also used to extract water for the whole village?

Get with the damned program, Dave.

Yea, it's gettin worse. Usually it slows down and quits working around 10PM which was 9PM due to daylight savings time in the states. Now it can be anytime of the day and it's slow or doesn't work for a while. And then it's notorious flor slows down or quits altogether when you're submitting a post. Sometimes it takes 5 minutes to submit, other times 1 second, and other times you get a network timeout. I've been to many sites and never seen this issue unless it's down or blocked in which case, it never works.

Go to the jobs part in the drop down menu and see if you ever get a slow down....

This goes to show Dave only cares about getting his post a job fees. There is no doubt no money is getting directed to the forums. Bandwith limit and data storage most likely is at it's limit. Another reason we can't post pics. Embarassed

I wonder if the forum is getting sabotaged and Dave or the mods can't tell us via posting because it'd be bad for business?

I mean that could be the reason the forums are so slow vs the job postings - it's all the same website so it doesn't make sense one part would work and the other wouldn't.

but if someone was using artificial means to bog down traffic to the forums, that would make sense as to why it's getting downright difficult to post - even in the early mornings, or daytime, which used to be not so bad - now about the only time it's easy to post is in the middle of the night when I'm having an insomnia attack!! Yea, why so slow? It's not graphics and video oriented or a real memory intensive application? I feel it is slowed down by artificial means programmed in the server(s). It could be too that those of us who post often and/or write long posts are singled out by the software to be slowed down while those of you who post only occasionally see normal response times with no network timeout errors.

Any of you not ever see slowness some of us are talking about?

When I started a thread months ago about it, there were few replies which indicated many posters were not having this issue and it might have something to do with using the site too much.
